Tech Campus Partnering with Closs Tire & Auto Inc.
Students will spend time observing shop operations which may include to the following: general operations of office, generating work orders, writing of estimates, ordering of parts through online systems. Student may also observe general shop operations which may include the following: inspections, brake system work, alignments, tire installation, battery installation, scanning engine codes, diagnosing emission repair, front end suspension repair, oil change services, and any other shop operations that are occurring on scheduled days. If students elect to experience the Parts counter job shadow/internship they will see how a part moves from design, manufacture, to warehouse, store and service dealer or consumer. This opportunity is non paying, although after completion of the Job Shadowing/Internship Program, an employeer may ask the student to further the relationship.
Business participating in the program are not receiving any compensation. They can at anytime, withdraw participation if program or student does not meet the individuals location required work standards.
This program is designed to give students an understanding of the roles in the Automotive industry and give them an opportunity to have hands on experience. Workplaces hosting the Job Shadow and Internships gain the ability to prescreen students whom they may feel to be a good fit within their workplace with the ability to extend the Internship or potentially hire the student as an employee.
